The BC Transfer System and BC Transfer Guide
Within BC, students can apply to transfer their credits between post-secondary institutions that are part of the BC Transfer System. The BC Transfer Guide is the authoritative source on transfer in BC and lists all the courses and programs for which transfer agreements have been established. Institutions that are approved to participate in the BC. Transfer System are listed at http://bctransferguide.ca/institutions/index.cfm.
The BC Transfer System operates under the guidance and coordination of the British Columbia Council on Admissions and Transfer (BCCAT). BCCAT was established in 1989 by the Minister of Advanced Education and Job Training with the purpose of facilitating admission, articulation and transfer arrangements among BC post-secondary institutions. In supporting the Transfer System, BCCAT council and staff:
(a) encourages institutions to develop policies and practices regarding the transferability of post-secondary credit courses so that credit granted at one institution can be applied toward credentials at other institutions; and
(b) examines issues pertaining to capacity, demand, and student mobility, and recommends policies and practices related to the admission process for direct entry and transfer students.
